About

PayCorpus helps India’s salaried professionals understand their pay, plan for retirement and make more informed decisions about their money.

Salary structures, government pay rules, pension systems and personal finance can become unnecessarily complicated. A single question—“What will my actual take-home salary be?”—can involve Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, HRA, Transport Allowance, pension contributions, income tax and several other variables.

PayCorpus was created to make these calculations and concepts easier to understand.

Our goal is straightforward: turn complicated pay and financial information into practical calculators, clear explanations and useful decision-making tools.

What PayCorpus Covers

PayCorpus has a particular focus on the financial questions faced by salaried professionals and government employees in India.

Our core coverage includes:

  • Salary & Pay — Basic Pay, Pay Matrix levels, allowances, gross salary, deductions and take-home pay.
  • 7th & 8th Pay Commission — existing pay structures, official developments, calculations and scenario-based estimates.
  • NPS & UPS — contributions, retirement corpus calculations, pension-related rules and comparisons.
  • Retirement Planning — retirement corpus, pension planning, inflation and long-term financial preparation.
  • Personal Finance — practical money management for salaried households.
  • Investing & Wealth Building — long-term investing, SIPs, compounding and wealth accumulation.
  • Financial Calculators — interactive tools designed to turn complicated calculations into useful estimates.

Government pay and retirement planning form an important part of PayCorpus today, but the broader objective is to help salaried people make better use of the income they earn throughout their working lives.

That idea is reflected in our guiding principle:

Make More of Your Pay.

Why PayCorpus Exists

A salary figure by itself tells only part of the story.

What matters is understanding how that salary is structured, what reaches your bank account, how much is being accumulated for retirement, how taxation affects your income and what you can do with the money that remains.

Unfortunately, information relevant to these decisions is often scattered across government orders, regulatory documents, tax rules, circulars and financial websites.

PayCorpus aims to bridge that gap.

Instead of simply reproducing rules, we try to answer practical questions such as:

What will my approximate in-hand salary be?

How does a change in DA affect my salary?

How much is being contributed to my NPS account?

What could my retirement corpus become over the next 20 or 25 years?

How much should I invest each month to reach a particular financial goal?

Where a calculation can make the answer clearer, we aim to build a calculator rather than asking readers to work through the mathematics themselves.

How We Create Our Content and Calculators

Accuracy matters particularly when information concerns salary, taxation, retirement and personal finance.

PayCorpus therefore aims to rely on primary and authoritative sources wherever reasonably possible. Depending on the subject, these may include Government of India orders and notifications, the Department of Expenditure, the Income Tax Department, PFRDA and other relevant regulators or official institutions.

Our calculators are built from the rules and assumptions stated on the relevant calculator page.

We also distinguish between official information and estimates.

For example, an officially notified allowance rate is different from an estimate of an employee’s future salary. Likewise, a hypothetical 8th Pay Commission calculation should not be presented as though the resulting pay has already been approved by the Government.

Where something is an estimate, projection, scenario or assumption, our aim is to identify it accordingly.

For more information about how we research, review and update content, please see our Editorial Policy.

Who Is Behind PayCorpus?

PayCorpus was founded by Lamsuanlun Tonsing, a Central Government professional with first-hand familiarity with government pay structures, career progression, NPS and the practical financial decisions faced by salaried households.

The idea behind PayCorpus also comes from a broader interest in long-term financial planning: understanding how salary grows over a career, how retirement savings compound, how investment decisions affect future wealth and how today’s income can be converted into greater financial security over time. That perspective shapes the site.

PayCorpus is intended to be practical rather than theoretical. Wherever possible, we want readers to be able to move from understanding a financial concept to actually calculating what it means for them.

Independent and Unofficial

PayCorpus is an independent publication.

It is not an official Government of India website and is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by the Government of India, any government department, Pay Commission, regulator, financial institution or the founder’s employer.

References to government rules, pay structures, NPS, UPS, taxation or other official matters are provided for informational purposes and should be checked against the applicable official notification, order or authority when making an important financial or service-related decision.

The views and content published on PayCorpus are produced independently and do not represent the views of any employer or government organisation.

Our Approach to Financial Information

PayCorpus is designed to help readers understand and evaluate financial information—not to make individual financial decisions for them.

Calculators necessarily rely on assumptions. Tax circumstances differ between individuals. Investment returns cannot be guaranteed. Government policies and salary rules can change.

For that reason, calculator results should be treated as estimates unless explicitly stated otherwise.

When circumstances require personalised tax, investment, legal or financial advice, readers should consult an appropriately qualified professional.

Building PayCorpus

PayCorpus is being developed as a growing library of interconnected guides and calculators.

Over time, the aim is to make it possible to follow the financial journey of a salary from beginning to end:

Pay → Take-Home Income → Savings → Investment → Retirement Corpus → Long-Term Wealth

That means continually improving existing calculators, updating information when rules change, correcting errors when they are identified and building new tools where they can genuinely make a financial question easier to answer.
